Amazon.com Review
Taking a drive in the country has been popular since horse-and-buggy days. But while the road trip itch is as strong as ever, scenic drives get scarcer year by year. The answer is a collection of the 120 loveliest drives in the U.S., providing maps and tours (with sites along the way itemized and lovingly described), trip length, when to go, nearby attractions, and local information sources. Free time is at a premium these days; rather than waste your leisure time in highway gluts, it's worth taking directions to some of the most beautiful drives the country still has to offer.

5 out of 5 stars Ready to hit the road!   March 9, 2010
M. P. Kight (Jacksonville, FL USA)
A friend loaned the book to me and after I started looking at it, I ordered it immediately. She has used it and said it was a great guide on the Natchez trip. Soon as the weather turns, we hit the road!

4 out of 5 stars Great Photos   February 1, 2010

This book is a pretty good idea generator if you're in the planning stages of a trip. My wife and I are planning a 25th anniversary trip and decided to see a bit of the US rather than going abroad. The book is helpful to get you thinking about possibilities. I know of some of the trips they recommend and they are nice. It's an excellent coffee table book.

5 out of 5 stars Best Book to Explore and Discover North America   September 9, 2009
Sally Nicholls (Australia)
As Australians traveling throughout the States in a motorhome, we found this book invaluable. Whilst there are plenty of other travel books, The Most Scenic Drives in America gave us a concise and unbiased overview of what to see in every State, without all the advertising about where to eat and what to buy. A "Must Have" book, and a great souvenir of our travels.
