| Customer Reviews: Broken Cables May 27, 2010 Philip L. Waters It wasn't long after I bought this product that I leaned backwards and snapped the primary screen off its hinges.
The buckle for the nylon straps for the secondary screen quickly cracked, and i was required to install it with my leather belt.
Twice I re-soldered the DC adapter to the flimsey wires on both sides. A third time i was required to replace the dc adapter wires and also purchase a dc connector from Radio Shack.
Now the 3-wire a/v jack has failed and I cannot find a replacement. It was a costly blunder to buy this product in both time and money.
In an effort to visit the Magnavox website and obtain support for hardware to replace the broken pieces, i realize what dire shape magnavox must be in and I'm inclined never to purchase from Magnavox again.
Lasted 8 months October 31, 2009 Mr. Paul J. Lindsey Purchased in Nov '08. Connections in the units started going bad in six months. sound started getting scratchy, then power would not stay on unless you held the wire plugs in exactly the right position at al times. Jiggle the connectoin just a little bit and the units would lose power and you had to start over. Opened up the units to see if there was a way to fix myself, but no, the female min-plug sockets are too small. Basically, the spring contacts in the sockets get lose from just the weight of the cords. Also, the headrest straps slide of the headrests real easily. My children also used these units most of the time in their laps because of sun glare on the screens.
We had problems June 30, 2009 PA Dad (St. Marys, PA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We only owned this product for about three months, when the player stopped working. An isolated incident, don't know, but obviously we are not happy. Called service center, did not get much help. Looks like we are eating this purchase. The product was not roughly handled, or damaged by our kids.
