No Good December 26, 2008 R. Brown Worked good for 4 months. Overnight the player just decided that it would not read discs. 90 day warranty. NO GOOD!!
Worthless December 4, 2008 JMD (Willow River, MN United States) I thought I'd try a new brand with competitive pricing... bad move. This product has many flaws. 1) Rattles and vibrates loudly when in use. 2) DVD menu doesn't work on certain discs. This is intermittent. 3) Picture quality is poor. I'm stickin' to Sony or Panasonic.
Great DVD player November 16, 2008 S. Baig (Raleigh, NC) I got this for my, then 4 year old son, who is now 6 and he still has it. We use it mainly for long distance trips and sometimes he'll use it at home to watch a movie by himself. The controls are easy to use, I taught him how to work it when he was 4 and he never had a problem with it. The sound is good and the swivel feature gives you options to attach it to the back of a seat so it can be off the lap. The picture quality is really good, adequate for a coby. I wouldn't buy a child a Sony or any other expensive brand but this Coby hasn't given me a reason to even want to.
coby dvd September 21, 2008 Can Elmas (iSTANBUL Turkey) I had this for a year. It is not perfect but does the job. But it broke on us after 10 months of use. You have to think what you get for the price. Cheap product that last short time. I will see the warranty conditions now?? Well this and other coby products have 90 days warranty. This tells it all. Company makes cheap products that wont last much. It is another waste for the planet. I am determined now I will buy brandname from now on. DVD player from sony is 150 usd and that should last more than a year I hope. Strange but after I wrote this review the unit started to work again. So maybe it does the job for the money...
stopped working @ 6 months August 14, 2008 Callmebob (Brooklyn) When we first got this dvd player we were really happy with how it worked. The swivel screen, which closes to make the buttons inaccessible to button-crazed two-year-old fingers, was great! The picture was big and bright and the battery worked better than expected and the whole thing was pretty light and easy to take on the road. But there is nothing more maddening and disappointing than shoddily built gadgets. And the speed with which this dvd player kicked the bucket is astounding. I would strongly discourage someone from buying this dvd player unless they are fully prepared to buy another soon thereafter.
